About Steven G.
Steven G. Leventhal built a steady career at the intersection of litigation, counseling and teaching. He earned a B.A. from Dickinson College in 1984 and a J.D. from Temple University in 1987. Those academic milestones set the stage for a long professional life split between private practice and public service.
He is a partner at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, where he has handled matters arising under federal and state law. He is admitted to practice in the Third Circuit as well as in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Over the years he has acted as outside counsel to a range of clients, and he has maintained long-term relationships with nonprofit and community organizations.
Teaching and institutional work have run alongside his practice. Since 2006 he has served as an adjunct professor at Temple University’s School of Tourism & Hospitality, teaching Sports Law to graduate and undergraduate students. That classroom work has kept him connected to emerging issues in sports governance, contracts and the regulatory environment.
Leventhal’s professional associations reflect a mix of bar activity and civic involvement. He holds memberships in both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey state bars, and he founded an organization called Counsel Council. He has been counsel to The Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind since 1987, providing legal guidance to a disability service provider for decades. Since 2009 he has also served in a counsel role with The Brothers in Harmony, S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A., Hamilton Square, NJ Chapter. Earlier in his career he co-chaired the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Subcommittee on In-House Staff Counsel for 1998–1999.
Colleagues describe him as a steady presence in the firm’s courtroom and conference-room work. He balances litigation tasks with counseling duties, often moving from casework to proactive advice for institutional clients. His background in teaching and nonprofit counsel work informs how he explains legal risk to boards and executives.
Outside the office he has continued to engage in community organizations and professional groups, bringing legal insight rather than headline-grabbing public profiles. He maintains an active license in the jurisdictions where he practices and continues to accept matters through his firm. His practice focuses on advising businesses and nonprofit organizations on legal matters.
