About Steve
Steve Hayes began practicing law in the early 1990s and has maintained an active presence in the Carolinas' trial community ever since. He became a member of both the North Carolina State Bar and the South Carolina Bar in 1991. That same year he joined several trial and legal associations that have shaped much of his professional life.
Hayes built his career around civil litigation, particularly cases that arise from roadway collisions. He joined local and national organizations in 1991 and remains a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the South Carolina Bar, the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, the Mecklenburg Trial Lawyers Association and the Mecklenburg Medical Legal Society. Those memberships have kept him involved with peers across disciplines and jurisdictions.
Over decades in practice, Hayes has focused on representing clients affected by serious motor vehicle accidents. He has worked on cases that require detailed investigation of crash reports, medical records and liability issues. His litigation work has included negotiating settlements and taking cases to trial when necessary. He has litigated matters in both North Carolina and South Carolina courts and is admitted to practice in each state.
Colleagues describe Hayes as steady in the courtroom and deliberate in preparation. He has handled a range of injury matters tied to automobile collisions, from complex liability disputes to claims that hinge on medical causation. His day-to-day work involves preparing pleadings, deposing witnesses and coordinating with medical experts to build evidentiary support for client claims.
Hayes practices out of Charlotte, where he is associated with the Charlotte NC Car Accident Lawyers Group. The firm places emphasis on collision-related matters and serves clients across the region. In Charlotte he has been an active participant in local trial lawyer gatherings and the city’s legal community, attending association events and contributing to professional discussions.
He continues to represent people injured in car accidents throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. His current practice centers on handling car accident claims and related civil litigation for clients in both states.
