About Stephen Paul
Stephen Paul Levine built the foundations of his legal life in the classroom. He earned a B.A. from Seattle University in 1969 and went on to receive his J.D. from Western State University College of Law in 1976. Those years set the stage for a long career in criminal law in California.
After law school he entered practice in California and became involved in criminal defense and public defense work. Over decades he has participated in local and statewide professional communities. He holds membership in the San Bernardino County Bar Association and is a member of the California Public Defenders Association. He also belongs to the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and California Lawyers for Criminal Justice.
Levine is recognized by the State Bar of California as a Specialist in Criminal Law. That certification marks a technical credential that requires meeting experience and examination standards established by the bar. It is one of the professional distinctions he uses to describe his practice and qualifications.
Beyond professional groups, Levine has taken leadership roles in the community. He serves as chairman of the board for Veterans Alcohol Recovery Services, an organization that works with veterans facing substance abuse challenges. That role places him at the intersection of legal practice and community-based recovery services.
His work spans courtroom appearances and case preparation. He represents clients charged with a range of criminal offenses. He handles arraignments, pretrial motions, plea negotiations and trial work. Colleagues and clients often note his long tenure in the local legal scene and his consistent presence in San Bernardino County courts.
Levine maintains offices in Redlands and San Bernardino. Those locations anchor his practice geographically and make him accessible to clients across the region. He continues to participate in bar activities and criminal justice organizations while running a criminal defense practice from those offices.
In day-to-day terms he is a California criminal defense attorney who draws on decades of practice, bar certification, and nonprofit board experience. He currently represents clients in criminal cases from his Redlands and San Bernardino offices.
