About Stephen

Stephen McConnell's path into law began in the classroom. He studied American government at Lehigh University and went on to earn a J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law. He expanded his training at the Naval Justice School, completing a Judge Advocate Certification in 1995 that reflects formal instruction in military law.

Early in his career, McConnell combined civil practice with work informed by military legal principles. The 1995 Judge Advocate Certification placed military law on his resume. Over time he built a practice that rests on both courtroom experience and an understanding of service-related legal issues.

He is licensed to practice in Georgia, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. His peer recognition includes listing in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers from Martindale-Hubbell and an AV rating in Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review system. Those notations are part of how colleagues have evaluated his work.

Professional associations have played a steady role in his development. McConnell has been a member of the American Bar Association since 1991. He joined the Reserve Officers Association in 2004 and the American Legion as a Post Judge Advocate in 2009. Since 2000 he has served as vice chair of the Marine Corps Associations of Georgia Lawyers. He is also active in local groups, holding memberships in the Atlanta Bar Association and its Litigation Section since 2010, and joining the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association the same year.

His practice is conducted under the name T. Stephen McConnell, Esq. That office arrangement reflects a solo or small-office model and a hands-on approach to case work. He handles matters that draw on both civilian litigation skills and his background in military law, and he continues to work across the three state jurisdictions where he is admitted.

Colleagues and clients see a lawyer who has balanced professional organization work with courtroom and advisory tasks. His long-standing memberships in both national and local bar associations have given him a platform for ongoing legal education and networking. The military-related posts, including his vice chair role with the Marine Corps Associations of Georgia Lawyers and his service as a post judge advocate, point to sustained involvement in issues that affect veterans and service members.

McConnell remains active in practice and in professional circles. He maintains his licenses in Georgia, Connecticut and Pennsylvania and continues to accept matters that use his background in military and civil litigation.

He currently practices under the name T. Stephen McConnell, Esq., handling litigation and military-related legal matters across his admitted jurisdictions.
