In January 2026, the Minnesota Supreme Court issued a public reprimand to Mr. Fields for professional misconduct related to an employment agreement that restricted a lawyer's right to practice after termination.
The court also required him to reimburse a marketing cost penalty paid by or on behalf of a former employee. Mr. Fields is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
