About Stephany

Stephany Garcia-Herrera began her legal training at Charleston School of Law in 2018 and earned her J.D. in 2021. Those three years provided the classroom foundation and practical exposure that many young lawyers need to start handling client matters. She graduated as the pandemic-era classes finished, entering the profession at a time when courts and firms were adjusting procedures and technology.

After law school she secured admission to the State Bar of Georgia in 2022 and joined Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor as an associate lawyer. In that role she has handled a range of tasks that come with early-career practice: client interviews, legal research, drafting motions and pleadings, and preparing materials for hearings and trials. Colleagues say she manages a caseload that requires both attention to detail and a readiness to respond to shifting schedules in the courthouse.

Her day-to-day work mixes written and oral advocacy. She spends time preparing discovery requests and responses, negotiating with opposing counsel, and advising clients on procedural steps. When matters move toward resolution she is involved in settlement discussions and the paperwork that closes files. The routine work of an associate — keeping calendars, meeting deadlines, and organizing files — sits beside the higher-pressure moments of courtroom appearances or urgent filings.

Garcia-Herrera maintains membership in the State Bar of Georgia, listed there since 2022. She participates in continuing legal education offerings and the professional activities common to new attorneys looking to build practical skills and network within the local bar. She has not been reported as holding elected bar positions or academic appointments, and her public profile is typical for a practicing associate building experience at a regional firm.

At Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor she works with senior lawyers who assign matters and supervise litigation strategy. That collaborative environment shapes much of her practice and provides opportunities to take on responsibility as her caseload grows. She is licensed to practice in Georgia and continues to develop the courtroom and client-handling skills that define her role. Her current practice focuses on the matters handled at Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor.
