About Stephanie
Stephanie Sexauer attended The John Marshall Law School, where her legal education laid the groundwork for a small-firm practice in Illinois. The classroom and the clinic gave her practical tools. They also shaped the way she approaches disputes: pragmatic, procedural and oriented toward resolution.
After law school she entered private practice. In 2013 she joined Ruben Garca, P.C. as a lawyer. That year provided a foundation in client counseling, case preparation and the day-to-day work of a litigation practice. The experience helped her make the transition to running her own office.
In 2014 she opened Sexauer Law, P.C. and serves as the firm's owner and lawyer. Building a firm from the ground up meant taking on a range of responsibilities beyond courtroom work. She manages client relationships, oversees case strategy and handles administrative tasks that come with running a small practice.
She is licensed to practice in Illinois. In addition to her role as counsel she holds a mediation certification from the Center for Conflict Resolution. The credential signals training in facilitated dispute resolution and a comfort with resolving matters outside of trial. That background informs how she approaches negotiations and settlement talks.
Her early career in a team environment followed by years operating a private practice has given her a dual perspective. She understands how larger offices coordinate cases and how a smaller practice adapts to clients' needs. Those contrasts appear in the way she structures intake, prepares files and communicates options to clients.
Colleagues and clients describe her work as steady and procedural. She tends to emphasize preparation and clear communication. Courtroom appearances, document drafting and mediation sessions are all part of the everyday mix. Her mediation training is an active component of how she handles disputes.
Today she leads Sexauer Law, P.C., representing clients and providing mediation services in Illinois. Her current practice concentrates on managing client matters and facilitating dispute resolution through both representation and mediation.
