About Stephanie D.

Stephanie D. Scotto took a conventional path to law school but followed it in a way that left a clear footprint. She earned a B.A. in political science and a minor in communications from the University of Rhode Island. She then completed her J.D. at New England Law | Boston. The combination of a broad undergraduate education and a focused legal training shaped how she approaches problems in practice.

After law school, Scotto gained admission to practice in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She navigates the rules and procedures of two neighboring state systems and handles matters that arise in each. That dual admission has allowed her to work for clients whose needs cross state lines and to adapt to differing court practices in New England.

Scotto is on the roster at The Keches Law Group, P.C., where she practices as part of a team of litigators and advisors. Her work involves preparing pleadings, conducting legal research, and advocating for clients at various stages of proceedings. She has taken cases from intake through resolution, balancing written advocacy with appearances in court when needed.

Her professional life extends beyond the office. Scotto holds current memberships in several bar and trial organizations. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association. She also belongs to the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers. Back in Rhode Island she maintains memberships in the Rhode Island Bar Association and the Rhode Island Women’s Bar Association. These affiliations keep her connected to colleagues across both states and to continuing education opportunities.

Colleagues describe her as methodical and attentive to detail. She writes briefs and prepares exhibits with an eye toward clarity. Courtroom work and negotiation both play roles in her caseload, and she spends time preparing clients for hearings and settlement discussions alike. Her training in communications during her undergraduate years shows in how she explains complex legal points to people who are not lawyers.

Scotto balances the practical demands of litigation with the everyday aspects of running cases: managing deadlines, coordinating with experts, and communicating with clients. She moves between research, drafting, and advocacy without losing sight of the client’s immediate needs. She currently practices at The Keches Law Group, P.C., representing clients in matters in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
