About Stanley
Stanley Stein has spent more than five decades connected to the law in Pennsylvania. He entered legal study after completing an undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh in 1964 and earned his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in 1971. Those years of training laid the groundwork for a long career in the region's courts.
After law school, Stein built a practice tied to the state courts and the federal appellate system. He is admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania and to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Those admissions reflect a career that has included both trial and appellate work in matters routed through local and federal processes. He has remained active in the legal community through professional organizations and courtroom work.
Leadership in the local bar has been a continuing part of his professional life. Since 2014 he has held the post of President of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. In that role he has overseen member programming, education efforts, and association governance. The position places him in regular contact with other litigators across the county and involves shaping meetings and CLE offerings that address developments in trial practice and procedure.
Colleagues describe him as a steady presence in association leadership. Over the years he has participated in forums and panels aimed at improving trial technique and ensuring adherence to procedural standards. His long tenure in the region gives him a broad view of how local practice has changed since the early 1970s, from filing practices to developments in appellate review.
Stein’s career path reflects persistent involvement in both courtroom advocacy and bar association work. He balances casework with organizational duties, and he continues to contribute to professional education efforts in Allegheny County. His background in Pittsburgh-area legal education and his decades of admission to local and federal courts anchor his practice in the region.
As of 2026 he remains active in the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County and continues to practice law in Pennsylvania, concentrating on litigation in state courts and appeals before the Third Circuit.
