About Slade

Slade McLaughlin entered Villanova University School of Law in 1979 and received his J.D. in 1982. Those years set the course for a long career in civil litigation and courtroom practice. He trained in the traditional law school routine: classes, clinics and early courtroom observations that shaped his approach to trial work.

After law school McLaughlin built a practice that took him into several state and federal courts. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia. Over time he moved into firm leadership and now serves as a principal at McLaughlin & Lauricella, P.C. His role involves case strategy, courtroom preparation and mentoring younger lawyers at the firm.

McLaughlin holds Board Certification as a Civil Trial Lawyer from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. That credential points to sustained trial experience and peer review in civil litigation. He has focused much of his career on contested civil matters, representing clients in jury and bench trials, and in the hearings that precede them. His work requires managing discovery, framing legal theory for trial, and presenting evidence and argument in court.

His membership in multiple bars reflects the geographic reach of his practice. He maintains active membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the New York Bar and the New Jersey Bar. Those admissions allow him to handle matters that traverse state lines and to appear in courts across several jurisdictions when cases require it.

At McLaughlin & Lauricella, P.C., he practices out of an office listed at One Commerce Square. In his position as principal he balances client representation with firm administration and case oversight. He continues to accept litigation matters in state and federal courts and to try cases when that is the appropriate next step. He focuses his current practice on civil litigation across the jurisdictions where he is admitted.
