About Sheri A.
Sheri A. Mullikin studied psychology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, earning a B.A. in 1993. She went on to law school at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and received her J.D. in 1999. Those years of classroom training laid the groundwork for a career that has mixed private practice, volunteer work and community involvement.
She began her legal career as an associate at Miles & Stockbridge, P.C. in 1999. That early post placed her inside an established firm environment during the first years after law school. She gained practical experience there before deciding to strike out on her own several years later.
In 2007 she opened her own practice, operating under the name Sheri A. Mullikin, Lawyer at Law. As the owner, she manages the business side of a small firm while providing legal counsel to clients. Running a solo practice meant handling a broad range of tasks, from client intake to case management to courtroom work when necessary.
Mullikin’s work extends beyond paid engagements. She has volunteered with the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Society since 2003, taking on adoption cases through that program. Since 2014 she has been listed as a Sponsoring Adoption Professional for Families For Private Adoption. Those roles reflect a steady involvement in adoption matters over many years and a willingness to provide pro bono or low-cost help where it is needed.
Her professional memberships include the Maryland State Bar Association, the Frederick County Bar Association and the Washington County Bar Association. She has also served on the school board of Mt. Airy Christian Academy since 2011. The combination of bar work and local service ties her closely to the legal and civic community in Maryland.
As of 2026 she maintains her private practice, continues to take adoption matters through volunteer and professional channels, and serves clients in Maryland under the name Sheri A. Mullikin, Lawyer at Law.
