About Shawn Michael
Shawn Michael Grady earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000 and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 2010. He completed multiple internships and clerkships during law school that exposed him to both trial and appellate work.
Before entering private practice, Grady held a series of regulatory and support roles in the early 2000s. He worked as a recruiting coordinator at Enron North America in 2000, and later served as a regulatory compliance analyst at Gregg & Valby in 2002. In 2005 he combined analytical work and programming as a regulatory compliance analyst/programmer at Robertson & Anschutz. Those positions preceded a shift into traditional legal training; he clerked at Buck Law Office in 2009 and undertook internships with the United States Lawyer's Office and the Fourteenth Court of Appeals of Texas. In 2010 he interned at the Harris County Lawyer's Office.
Grady moved into firm practice after law school. In 2011 he joined Sheehy, Ware & Pappas, P.C. as an associate and also worked as a contract lawyer for The Ammons Law Office that same year. In 2018 he opened his own practice and serves as owner of the Law Office of Shawn M. Grady, PLLC.
He is licensed in Texas and admitted to practice before multiple federal and bankruptcy courts. Those admissions include the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern, Northern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas. He holds Board Certification in Creditor's Rights Law from the American Board of Certification and the State Bar of Texas.
Grady is active in bar and community organizations. He is the current president of the Korean American Bar Association of Texas. He also holds memberships in the Asian American Bar Association and the Commercial Law League of America. Outside the bar, he participates in the Rothko Chapel Guild.
Colleagues and court filings show a practice that blends litigation and transactional work in commercial settings. He handles matters that include creditor representation, bankruptcy proceedings and related contested matters in state and federal courts. He also draws on earlier regulatory experience when addressing compliance issues that intersect with commercial disputes. His law office provides representation for creditors and businesses in bankruptcy and commercial litigation. His practice concentrates on creditor's rights, bankruptcy and commercial litigation.
