About Shavon
Shavon Henry took a steady path into the law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University in 2013 after four years of undergraduate study. She then moved to Michigan, completing her Juris Doctor at the University of Michigan Law School in 2018. Those academic years shaped the foundations of her legal training and prepared her for practice in California.
After law school, Henry entered private practice as an associate at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP. She is a current member of The State Bar of California. At the firm she joined colleagues who handle a range of matters across business and litigation-related work, and she became part of that daily practice environment early in her career.
In her role as an associate, Henry has taken on the routine tasks that keep cases and transactions moving. She conducts legal research, drafts memoranda and pleadings, prepares documents for negotiations and hearings, and supports trial and transactional teams in document review and due diligence. Her work involves both written advocacy and collaborative problem solving with more senior attorneys and clients.
Colleagues describe the associate role as one that requires attention to detail and adaptability. Henry’s training at Michigan and Cornell underpins her approach to deadlines, analysis and legal writing. She maintains active membership in the California bar and participates in the continuing education expected of practicing attorneys. That professional engagement keeps her current on changes in state law and court practice.
Her career to date reflects the path of a lawyer building experience within a larger firm structure. She has continued to expand her practical skills on matters handled by Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP and to learn the processes that govern litigation and transactional work in California. Her current practice focuses on advising and representing clients handled by Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP in California.
