About Seth
Seth Okin built a career that crosses courtroom work and community programs. He trained in negotiation and conflict management and earned law and graduate degrees before stepping into practice. Those academic choices shaped the practical work he would take on.
He completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2011, concentrating in family law. He also earned a Master of Science through the University of Baltimore’s Center for Negotiation and Conflict Management in 2011. Earlier, he received a Bachelor of Science from Towson University in 2005, where he studied sociology and anthropology and criminal justice.
Okin moved into legal work while still learning the ropes. He served as a law clerk at A.J. Kodeck in 2009 and later clerked at Fradkin and Weber, P.A. in 2011. Those early positions exposed him to litigation and client counseling in a hands-on way. He worked as a paralegal at Rollins, Smalkin, Richards & Mackie, LLC in 2012, adding research and case-preparation duties to his résumé.
In 2012 he opened his own practice, operating as Seth Okin Lawyer at Law. The same year he coordinated a Truancy Court Program for the Center for Families, Children and the Courts. That role put him inside schools, courts and community meetings. It required working with families, juvenile services and educators to address attendance problems and related legal issues.
His background combines courtroom experience with program coordination. The law clerk and paralegal roles provided exposure to civil and family matters. Coordinating the Truancy Court Program gave him direct contact with policies that affect children and schools. Running his own firm has kept those threads connected: case work, advocacy and working with community partners.
Colleagues describe Okin as practical in approach and direct in communication. He prefers to resolve disputes through negotiation when possible but will pursue litigation when necessary. His training in negotiation and conflict management informs how he prepares cases and counsels clients.
He continues to operate his practice under the name Seth Okin Lawyer at Law. He handles family law matters and cases involving children and truancy.
