About Seth

Seth Morris is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Morris is the Managing Attorney at Morris Law, P.C., a criminal defense firm based in Berkeley, California. He serves clients throughout the Bay Area in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Morris earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2006. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Columbia University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 2001. After college, he obtained a Master of Arts in Education from Loyola Marymount University in 2003. During his time at UC Berkeley, he was involved in various legal clinics and externships, gaining practical experience in criminal defense.

Mr. Morris concentrates his practice in criminal defense, representing clients charged with a wide range of offenses, including drug charges, weapons crimes, violent crimes, and federal criminal charges. He handles all stages of criminal proceedings, from pre-trial motions and negotiations to trials and appeals. His experience encompasses both state and federal court systems, allowing him to effectively navigate complex legal landscapes.

Throughout his career, Mr. Morris has handled numerous jury trials, including cases where clients faced potential life sentences. He began his legal career as an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP, one of the largest law firms globally. Seeking more fulfilling work, he transitioned to public service as a Deputy Public Defender in Alameda County, where he represented clients charged with various crimes. In 2011, he became a partner at Cooper, Cooper & Morris, expanding his practice across the Bay Area. In 2021, he founded Morris Law, P.C., to provide dedicated criminal defense services to clients throughout Northern California.

Mr. Morris is an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers, the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, and the Alameda County Bar Association. He has been recognized for his contributions to the legal community and has been called upon to comment on current events in the legal industry, particularly regarding the use of police body cameras. He is fluent in English and Spanish, enabling him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
