About Seth
Seth Albin built a legal foundation at the University of Michigan and Washington University School of Law. He earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1994 and received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 1997. Those classroom years set the stage for a career that moved between government, corporate and private practice.
He began public service immediately after law school, serving as an Assistant Attorney General for Missouri in 1997. The early courtroom work that followed included a litigation associate role in 1998 at Jones, Korum, Waltrip & Jones. By 2000 he had moved in-house as counsel in the litigation department of GE Commercial Distribution Finance Corporation, a position that deepened his experience in commercial disputes and creditor relations.
Albin returned to firm practice in the early 2000s, joining Thompson Coburn LLP as an associate in the bankruptcy department in 2003. That period reinforced his technical knowledge of insolvency procedures and restructuring. He later joined Stewart, Mittleman, Heggie, Henry & Albin LLC in 2011 and launched his own practice, Albin Law, as founding member in 2015. In 2020 he became part of Summers Compton Wells, LLC, where he practices today and maintains ties to offices in Illinois, Denver and Rolla.
Professional organizations have been a constant throughout his career. He has held membership in the Missouri Bar since 1997 and in the Illinois Bar since 1998. He is active in the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Association of Veterans Advocates. Longstanding local ties include the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, where he served as president for the 2015–2016 term, and memberships in the St. Louis County, St. Charles County and Phelps County bar associations.
Over the years Albin has handled bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters across a range of settings: government, corporate and private practice. His experience spans creditor-side and debtor-side issues, contested creditor claims and procedural aspects of bankruptcy practice. He also participates in professional work related to veterans’ legal issues through membership in relevant associations.
He remains licensed in Missouri and Illinois and continues to divide his practice between insolvency matters and litigation. He practices at Summers Compton Wells, LLC, where he handles bankruptcy and related litigation matters.
