About Seni
Seni Popat earned a B.B.A. in Business Management and Legal Studies in Business from Hofstra University in 2006. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2010. Those credentials laid the groundwork for dual admission to the bars of New York and New Jersey a few years into her career.
She began practice as a senior associate at the Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP in 2010. The role put her in the middle of transactional work and client counseling early on. That experience helped shape the next step: founding her own firm. In 2017 she became president of the Law Office of Seni Popat, P.C., leading a small practice that handles matters across state lines.
Her professional memberships include the New York State Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar, both held since 2010. Those associations reflect her cross-jurisdictional practice and keep her engaged with developments in state law. Outside of the bar, she also holds a real estate broker certification from the National Board of Real Estate Brokers, which complements her legal work on property matters.
Her career blends transactional law and real estate licensing. Early on she worked on closings, title issues and contract negotiations. Over time she added counseling for individuals and small businesses that face routine disputes and contract problems. The combined legal and broker credentials allow her to advise clients on both sides of a real estate transaction: the legal paperwork and the business considerations.
Colleagues describe her work style as pragmatic. She tends to break complex issues into discrete steps for clients. That practical approach shows up in client meetings and in drafting documents. She has managed matters that require coordination among lenders, title agents and opposing counsel. Those assignments often require practical problem solving and attention to scheduling and regulatory detail.
Her practice remains regional but spans New York and New Jersey. She runs the day-to-day operations of her firm and handles a mix of transactional matters, closings and related advice. She keeps current through bar association involvement and by maintaining her real estate broker credentials. Her practice concentrates on real estate and related transactional matters in New York and New Jersey.
