About Sean
Sean Imran moved into law after studying business and information systems. He earned a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2020. Before that he completed undergraduate studies in management information systems at the University of Houston. His academic path combined technical training and legal education.
Imran began his legal career in federal court. In 2020 he served as a judicial law clerk for the Middle District of Florida. That work exposed him to federal procedure, opinion drafting and the day-to-day of court operations. He then transitioned to public defense work in New York. In 2021 he joined the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County as a staff lawyer and handled criminal cases and related motions for clients in the local courts.
He is a member of the State Bar of New York, a membership he has held since 2021. In 2023 Imran opened his own practice, Law Office of Sean Imran, LLC. That move shifted him from institutional practice to running a small firm where he manages client intake, case strategy and courtroom representation. The firm handles matters that arise in New York courts and draws on his prior experience in both federal and state settings.
Practically minded, Imran works on criminal defense and litigation tasks that range from pretrial motions to trial preparation. He has experience conducting factual investigation, interviewing clients and witnesses, drafting briefs and arguing at hearings. The work requires close attention to procedure and deadlines; his background in clerkship informs how he approaches filings and courtroom presentations.
Colleagues and former coworkers describe him as someone who prefers clear, direct legal work. He tends to keep files lean and focuses on the next procedural step. Outside the courtroom he spends time updating legal research and maintaining client communication. At his office he handles a mix of arraignments, motions practice and contested hearings. His current practice concentrates on criminal defense and related litigation in New York.
