About Sebastian D
Sebastian D Torres earned his law degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University in 2020 after completing an undergraduate degree in political science at Eastern Kentucky University in 2017. He arrived at law school with a clear interest in how state rules shape everyday life, and he left with a practical legal education grounded in classroom study and clinic work.
After passing the bar examinations necessary to practice, Torres became licensed to practice in both Kentucky and Ohio. He built his early practice around the demands of those state systems. That dual-licensure lets him move cases across state lines when circumstances require and gives him a working knowledge of the procedural differences between the two court systems.
Torres joined Gatlin Voelker, PLLC, where he practices alongside attorneys who handle a mix of matters that arise in regional courts and administrative settings. At the firm he contributes to case preparation, legal research, and client meetings. He is comfortable drafting pleadings, preparing for hearings, and advising clients on what to expect at each stage of a matter.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and concise in written work. He favors straightforward analysis over jargon and aims to present options in plain language so clients can make practical decisions. In the courtroom he takes a measured approach, focusing on the facts and the applicable law rather than theatrical arguments.
Outside of hearings and filings, Torres spends significant time on investigation and fact-gathering. He treats the development of a clear factual record as central to any legal strategy. That emphasis on groundwork often shapes how he frames issues for resolution, whether the goal is negotiated settlement or trial readiness.
He is also attentive to the procedural demands of multi-jurisdictional practice. Managing deadlines, filings, and differing court rules across Kentucky and Ohio is a routine part of his work. Clients who have matters that touch both states often rely on his ability to coordinate filings and strategy across those lines.
Today, Torres maintains his practice at Gatlin Voelker, PLLC, where he continues to work on cases that originate in Kentucky and Ohio. His current practice concentrates on legal matters that arise in those two states.
