About Sean
Sean Tamura-Sato trained at Cornell before returning to California for law school. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University in 2004 and a J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 2007. Those years set the course for a practice rooted in litigation and labor issues.
He is admitted to practice in California and Hawaii and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Early in his career he joined Minami Tamaki, where he has worked on matters for employees facing workplace disputes. His work at the firm has involved courtroom proceedings, administrative filings and negotiation on behalf of clients.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in his approach to cases. He balances detailed fact-gathering with an eye for legal strategy. That approach has been applied across individual employment claims and collective matters, where proof of patterns and policies often matters as much as individual testimony.
Tamura-Sato maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He belongs to the National Employment Lawyers Association and the California Employment Lawyers Association. He also holds membership in the State Bar of California and the Asian American Bar Association. These affiliations keep him connected to developments in employment law and to forums where practitioners exchange case law and trial experience.
Outside the courtroom he has been involved in case preparation that requires both legal analysis and practical problem-solving. He has handled discovery disputes, briefing, and settlement negotiations. He has represented clients before administrative agencies as well as in federal and state trial courts.
He combines classroom training from UC Law San Francisco with several years of practice at Minami Tamaki. That mix shapes how he evaluates a case: legal theory tested against the facts of a workplace. His practice emphasizes client advocacy through litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
He is currently based at Minami Tamaki and represents employees in employment law matters. His current practice focuses on employment law representing employees.
