About Scott R.
Scott R. Haft built his legal foundation in Pennsylvania and finished his formal training in Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Franklin & Marshall College in 2005. Three years later he graduated from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University, receiving his J.D. in 2008.
His early years after law school were spent establishing a practice in Florida. He is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and has secured admission to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Those credentials have enabled him to handle matters in both state and federal forums.
Colleagues describe Haft as methodical in his courtroom preparation. He has worked on cases that required close attention to pretrial procedures, discovery, and evidentiary issues. He tends to take a practical approach: assess risk, develop a plan, and test arguments where necessary. That approach has shaped how he manages files and prepares witnesses for hearings and trial.
Haft’s background blends time in the trenches of litigation with routine courtroom appearances. He has experience drafting motions, arguing before trial judges, and negotiating resolutions when circumstances allow. He is comfortable handling filings in federal courts as well as in Florida’s state system. The combination of state and federal admissions gives him flexibility in how he structures a case and where he files litigation.
Outside of court, he has advised clients on procedural aspects that affect case strategy. He places emphasis on timing and the consequences of discovery choices. Those considerations often guide decisions about settlement versus continued litigation. He also works with experts and consultants when cases require technical or specialized input.
Haft has kept ties to the legal community since graduating law school. He continues to follow developments in federal and Florida law that bear on litigation practice. He is based in Florida and regularly appears in proceedings before judges in the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida as needed.
He currently concentrates his practice on litigation in Florida state courts and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
