About Justin John
Justin John Shepard completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida, earning a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism Studies in 2018. He remained in Florida for law school and received his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 2021. The combination of political science and journalism shaped his approach to legal work: attention to detail, an eye for persuasive narrative and an interest in how law intersects with public affairs.
After law school he moved into private practice in Florida. Early in his career he took on a broad mix of tasks common to young lawyers: drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, preparing discovery and supporting trial preparation. Those first years provided a practical education that ran parallel to the classroom training he received at Nova Southeastern. He also began participating in professional organizations in 2021 and has maintained those memberships since.
Colleagues describe Shepard as methodical and direct in his legal writing. He tends to favor clear, concise briefs over ornate argument. That style carries through to how he prepares for hearings. He is comfortable presenting factual narratives and citing authority, and he invests time in assembling the factual record before taking a matter to court or mediation.
His practice is anchored in Florida. Shepard has handled matters that require client counseling and courtroom preparation, often working as part of a team at the firm where he is based. He has experience coordinating discovery, interviewing witnesses and assisting in trial strategy. Those responsibilities have allowed him to build practical skills on both the litigation and client-service sides of a legal practice.
He currently practices at Scott, Harris, Bryan, Barra & Jorgensen, P.A., where he works on matters for clients in the state of Florida. His day-to-day work includes client representation, document preparation and courtroom advocacy as needed. He continues to maintain professional memberships he began in 2021 and to build his practice at the firm.
