About Scott
Scott Learned built a career that bridges liberal arts study and legal practice. He combines a varied undergraduate background in math, physics, languages and music with three years of legal training in Washington, D.C. The result is a lawyer who thinks in numbers and sentences, and who approaches problems in a practical, methodical way.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Whitman College in 1998, where he studied mathematics, physics, French and music. He went on to Georgetown University Law Center and completed his Juris Doctor in 2001. Those years shaped his approach to legal reasoning and client counseling, pairing analytical rigor with attention to communication.
After law school he established his practice in Idaho. He is admitted to practice in the state and handles matters that arise in its courts and administrative venues. Over time he has built a practice that serves people and small enterprises across the state, offering advice and courtroom representation as needed.
Learned’s work spans counseling and dispute resolution. He spends considerable time interviewing clients, reviewing documents and preparing cases for negotiation or trial. He writes pleadings and motions, prepares clients for hearings, and works to resolve problems efficiently. Colleagues describe him as deliberate and precise in his courtroom preparation, and clients often cite clear explanations of options and likely outcomes.
He operates under the name Learned Lawyer PLLC. In that setting he manages both the substantive legal work and the practical aspects of running a small firm. He balances direct client work with the administrative duties that come from maintaining an independent practice, and he adapts to the shifting needs of people and businesses in Idaho.
Outside of casework he keeps up with professional learning and holds current memberships in relevant legal organizations. He participates in continuing education and stays involved with peers in the state’s legal community. His background in multiple academic disciplines continues to inform how he frames issues and communicates complex ideas.
Today he practices from Learned Lawyer PLLC and concentrates on representing clients in Idaho state matters, providing counsel, negotiation and courtroom representation as appropriate.
