Scott Alan VanWagenen is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1996. His license is currently in active status. Mr. VanWagenen is the managing partner at Davis & VanWagenen, a law firm located at 5703 N West Ave, Suite 100, Fresno, CA 93711. He has been practicing law for over 29 years, serving clients throughout the Central Valley region of California.
Mr. VanWagenen earned his Juris Doctor degree from San Joaquin College of Law, graduating in 1992. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988. During his time at San Joaquin College of Law, he gained practical experience by working as a law clerk at the Law Offices of Perez, Williams & Medina, a personal injury plaintiff firm, from 1988 to 2006. This role provided him with substantial courtroom experience and exposure to complex litigation cases.
Mr. VanWagenen concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury, products liability, and workers' compensation. He represents individuals in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents, slip/trip and fall incidents, wrongful death, and injuries caused by product defects. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. VanWagenen has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Fresno and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. He has also appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as a trial attorney at the Law Offices of Perez, Williams & Medina, where he gained extensive experience in personal injury litigation.
Mr. VanWagenen is an active member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the California Trial Lawyers Association, the California Applicant Attorneys Association, and the Consumer Attorneys of California. He is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to effectively serve the diverse communities of the Central Valley. Additionally, he has been involved in community service, including serving as Vice President and a board member of the Trauma Intervention Program of Fresno and as a Den Leader for the Auberry Cub Scouts.
