About Samantha Jean
Samantha Jean Fitzgerald built a career at the meeting point of law and numbers. She earned a B.S. in accounting from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1996, a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 1999, and an LL.M. in Tax from the University of Miami School of Law in 2000. That academic path set the stage for a practice that draws on both tax law and accounting principles.
Her early legal work began while she was finishing her graduate studies. In 1998 she worked as a lawyer and intern at Hugh L. Koerner, P.A., gaining hands-on exposure to client matters and courtroom procedures. That experience preceded a longer stint at Fowler White Burnett, P.A., where she joined as a shareholder and lawyer in 2001 and handled a range of matters for individual and business clients.
In 2011 she established the Law Offices of Samantha J. Fitzgerald. Since then she has operated her own firm and counseled clients on estates, trusts, tax planning, and related disputes. Her background as a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Florida informs how she approaches complex tax issues, asset transfers, and the interplay between tax compliance and estate planning.
Her admissions include practice before the Florida courts, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials have allowed her to handle federal tax controversies and to advise on multi-jurisdictional matters that touch on trust administration and probate. She also draws on litigation experience when matters require contested proceedings or negotiations.
Within the legal community she serves on local committees. She is the current Co-Chair of the Wills, Trusts & Estates Section of the Broward County Bar Association. Her involvement in the association keeps her connected to developments in probate procedure, trust law, and elder law issues that affect clients across the region.
Clients typically seek her out for estate planning, probate administration, tax advice tied to trusts and estates, and representation in tax controversies. Her dual credentialing as an attorney and CPA gives clients a combined perspective on tax-efficient estate transfers, fiduciary accounting, and dispute resolution.
She maintains an active practice through the Law Offices of Samantha J. Fitzgerald, handling estate planning, probate and trust administration, and federal and state tax matters.
