Sam J. Israels is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Israels is a partner at Cron, Israels & Stark, a law firm located in Los Angeles, California. He has been practicing law for over 20 years, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
Mr. Israels earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law, where he graduated in 2001. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Irvine, majoring in Social Ecology with an emphasis in Criminal Law. During his time at Santa Clara University, he was awarded the prestigious Witkin Award and interned for the United States District Court for the Northern District of California under the Honorable Ronald M. Whyte. He also interned for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office in their Hardcore Gangs Division.
Mr. Israels concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, including both federal and state cases. He represents individuals in matters involving homicide, drug crimes, sexual assault, white-collar crimes, domestic violence, and driving under the influence. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Israels has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to joining Cron, Israels & Stark in 2008, he worked as a Deputy City Attorney at the Los Angeles Office of the City Attorney, gaining significant trial experience in various criminal cases.
Mr. Israels is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the State Bar of California. He has been recognized by his peers and the State Bar of California as a leader in his area of practice. He has been selected to Super Lawyers from 2019 to 2026, an honor awarded to top-rated attorneys in specific practice areas. In his free time, Mr. Israels enjoys tennis, racquetball, and barbecuing.
