About S. Jessica
S. Jessica Farmer built a steady academic path toward tax law. She earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Alabama, then completed a J.D. at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. She later returned to study tax more deeply, taking an LL.M. in Tax at the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Those years in school gave her both technical grounding and a sequence of practical experiences. As a judicial intern for the Circuit Court of Shelby County she saw courtroom procedure and case management up close. The following summer she worked as a summer associate at The Watson Firm, where she spent time on research, client files and the day-to-day of firm practice.
Her academic background in accounting and an advanced tax degree shape how she approaches matters. The accounting training helps her translate financial records into legal arguments. The LL.M. adds detailed study of tax rules and planning. Together, they inform work that touches on compliance, transactional issues and the tax implications of business decisions.
Farmer is licensed in both Alabama and Florida. That dual admission allows her to serve clients whose issues cross state lines or involve multi-jurisdictional concerns. Her early internships and firm experience gave her exposure to litigation and transactional settings, and she has continued to apply those lessons in private practice.
She practices at Purcell, Flanagan, Hay & Greene, P.A., where she applies her accounting background and tax training to client work. She handles tax-related matters and provides counsel on business and financial issues for individuals and organizations in Alabama and Florida.
