About R. Kellen

R. Kellen Bryant built his legal foundation in Florida. He earned a B.A. in political science from Florida State University in 2003 and a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 2007. Those years in school led quickly to courtroom experience and a string of early internships that shaped his practice.

While still in law school he served as an intern for Judge Scriven at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and later for Judge LaRose at the Second District Court of Appeal. After graduation he moved into construction litigation as an associate in 2007. The early exposure to trial work and appellate procedure informed his approach to client advocacy.

In 2009 he opened the Law Office of R. Kellen Bryant, P.L., where he began concentrating on estate planning and elder law. He built that solo practice into a platform for advising families on Medicaid planning, incapacity planning, wills and trusts, and related probate matters. In 2016 he joined Berg Bryant Elder Law Group, PLLC, where he continued to represent older adults, their families, and caregivers.

Bryant holds admission to the Florida bar and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is a Board Certified Elder Law Lawyer through the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and is accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to assist veterans with benefits matters. Those credentials reflect a practice centered on statutory and administrative work as well as transactional planning.

He is a member of several professional organizations that focus on elder law and related practice areas. His memberships include the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), ElderCounsel, Lawyers With Purpose, the Life Care Planning Law Offices Association, and the Jacksonville Bar Association. He has maintained active involvement in these groups while practicing in northeast Florida.

Colleagues and clients describe his work as practical and procedural. He draws on litigation experience when preparing plans intended to withstand scrutiny. At Berg Bryant Elder Law Group, PLLC he continues to represent clients on long-term care planning, estate documents, special needs planning, and veterans’ benefits. He handles elder law and estate planning matters.
