About S. Craig
S. Craig Shamburg earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University’s University Park campus in 2005. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2009. The combination of an accounting degree and a law degree provided him with a foundation in numbers and statutes, and it has informed the way he approaches legal problems since his earliest days in practice.
Shamburg began his legal career in 2009 at MacDonald, Illig, Jones & Britton. He has maintained admissions in multiple state jurisdictions, including Georgia, Florida and Pennsylvania, and he is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Those credentials have allowed him to represent clients in state and federal forums and to handle matters that cross state lines.
He is a current member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Erie County Bar Association. Through those associations he has stayed engaged in continuing legal education and the issues affecting lawyers in the states where he practices. His memberships also connect him to professional networks that support courtroom practice and transactional work alike.
Shamburg’s background in accounting is a recurring theme in his work. He often approaches cases with attention to financial detail, and he is comfortable reviewing ledgers, financial statements and transactional records when those elements are relevant. At the same time, his admissions to multiple state bars and to the federal district court mean he regularly handles procedural questions that arise in multi-jurisdictional matters. Colleagues say he brings a methodical temperament to investigations and to case preparation.
He continues to practice at MacDonald, Illig, Jones & Britton, where his caseload reflects both legal and financial issues. His current work centers on matters that draw on legal analysis and financial review, and he represents clients in matters across the jurisdictions where he is admitted.
