About Ryan
Ryan Schmidt trained at Belmont University College of Law. He arrived in the legal world during a period of steady change in practice and educational technology. Law school put him in classrooms that emphasized practical skills alongside doctrinal study. He left Belmont with the tools to begin practicing in Georgia.
He joined The Bowen Law Group in 2018 as a lawyer. Those early years were spent learning the contours of client work at a regional firm. He handled a range of matters and developed the habits of case preparation, client communication and courtroom procedure that define day-to-day practice. Colleagues from that period recall a steady work ethic and a willingness to take on complex assignments.
In 2023 he became a partner at Bowen Schmidt. The move marked a change in role and responsibility. Partnership brought supervisory duties and a larger role in firm management. It also required a shift toward mentoring younger lawyers and shaping case strategy at a higher level. The transition from associate to partner is a common milestone, but it is also a practical one: partners balance client work with the business of running a firm.
Schmidt practices in Georgia. His career has been rooted in the state’s courts and legal community since he began practicing. That continuity has given him familiarity with local procedure and the expectations of judges and opposing counsel. Friends and former classmates describe him as pragmatic in his approach to disputes and careful when preparing filings and oral arguments.
Outside the office he maintains professional ties in the legal community. He is listed as a current member of professional associations, which keep him connected to peers and continuing legal education. Those connections feed back into his practice, helping him keep up with changes in rules and remedies.
He maintains offices under The Bowen Law Group name and practices through Bowen Schmidt as a partner. He now practices in Georgia, representing clients from his offices at The Bowen Law Group and Bowen Schmidt.
