About Ryan S.

Ryan S. Perlin built his legal foundation at American University, where he earned a B.A. in 2002. He stayed in the Baltimore-Washington area for law school and received his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2005.

Fresh out of law school, he served as a law clerk to The Honorable Stuart R. Berger. The clerkship placed him inside the courthouse and offered a close view of how judges handle evidence, procedure and written opinions. It was an early, formative year in a career that would move quickly into private practice.

In 2006 Perlin joined Anderson, Coe & King, LLP as an associate. He spent several years there handling matters for clients and developing litigation skills. In 2011 he became a partner at Bekman, Marder, Hopper, Malarkey & Perlin, L.L.C. That step marked a transition to firm leadership and a greater role in case strategy and client management.

Perlin is admitted to practice in Maryland and in the District of Columbia. He holds memberships in the Maryland State Bar Association, the Bar of the District of Columbia, the Baltimore County Bar Association and the Maryland Association for Justice. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with local bar organizations and continuing legal education.

Colleagues and court records show a lawyer experienced in courtroom procedure and client advocacy. His clerkship and years in practice have informed his approach to preparing cases for trial and for settlement discussions. He is comfortable inside the courtroom and in written advocacy; he appears regularly in filings and hearings that arise in the mid-Atlantic legal system.

At Bekman, Marder, Hopper, Malarkey & Perlin, L.L.C., Perlin serves as partner. He oversees matters originating in Maryland and the District of Columbia and works alongside other attorneys at the firm to manage litigation and client relationships. He continues to maintain active membership in professional organizations and to handle cases for clients in the region.

He currently practices as a partner at Bekman, Marder, Hopper, Malarkey & Perlin, L.L.C., representing clients in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
