About Ryan S.
Ryan S. Cook built a legal foundation that began in Kentucky and moved to Texas. He earned a B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 2006 and completed his J.D. at South Texas College of Law in 2011. Those years set the stage for a career centered on securities and investor advocacy.
After law school, Cook entered practice in Texas. He has served as a lawyer at Shepherd Smith Edwards & Kantas, LLP and at McCulloch & Miller, PLLC. His work in firms that handle investment-loss claims and related disputes has shaped his approach to client representation. He has handled arbitration and litigation matters and worked alongside colleagues on cases that require both procedural attention and substantive knowledge of securities rules.
Cook’s professional affiliations reflect the area in which he spends much of his time. He holds current membership in the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association and in the Public Investors Advocate Bar Association. Those memberships place him among lawyers who regularly pursue claims on behalf of individual and institutional investors in arbitration forums and in court when necessary.
Colleagues describe his practice style as methodical. He prepares written demands and arbitration filings, gathers documentary evidence, and deposes witnesses when cases move into discovery. He also participates in pre-hearing strategy and client counseling. His work has involved disputes arising from alleged broker misconduct, unsuitable recommendations, and misrepresentations tied to investment products. He handles cases that touch on both FINRA rules and state securities laws.
Cook balances case work with continuing education. He keeps current on changes in industry rules and arbitration procedures. That attention to procedural detail is important in investor claims, where deadlines and filing requirements often determine whether a claim advances.
In his career to date, Cook has moved between firms but remained in one jurisdiction: Texas. He continues to accept matters that involve FINRA arbitration and investor litigation. He practices at Shepherd Smith Edwards & Kantas, LLP and has also served at McCulloch & Miller, PLLC. He currently concentrates his practice on representing investors in securities disputes and arbitration.
