Ryan Andrew Kalamaya is a trial attorney and the founding partner at Kalamaya | Goscha, a prominent law firm located in Aspen, Colorado. Since 2007, he has dedicated his legal career to serving clients in personal injury, criminal defense, and family law. The firm operates primarily in the Roaring Fork and Vail Valleys, addressing a diverse array of legal issues. Born in Longmont, Colorado, Kalamaya pursued higher education at the University of Virginia, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction in 2002. His athletic prowess earned him a place on the All-ACC Academic Team, showcasing his ability to balance academics and athletics effectively. Following his undergraduate studies, he attended the University of Colorado Law School, graduating in 2007. As class president, he demonstrated leadership skills and graduated in the top 25% of his class, setting a strong foundation for his legal career. Kalamaya began his professional journey as a Deputy District Attorney in Eagle County, Colorado, from 2007 to 2010. This experience provided him with invaluable courtroom exposure and developed his litigation skills. In 2010, he transitioned to Garfield & Hecht, P.C., where he worked as an associate attorney until 2014.
His desire to create a more impactful practice led him to co-found Reynolds, Kalamaya & Voboril, LLC in 2014, which later evolved into Kalamaya | Goscha. Throughout his career, he has taken over 50 cases to trial, with several cases receiving media attention from major publications like the Wall Street Journal, LA Times, ESPN, and the Denver Post. Kalamaya is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Colorado Bar Association, the Pitkin County Bar Association, and the 9th Judicial District Bar Association, where he has served as past president. His dedication to family law is further exemplified by his membership in the American Bar Association's Family Law Section. Recognized for his excellence in the field, he has been named a Colorado Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2014 to 2019 and has received the Clients’ Choice Award by Avvo from 2013 to 2023.
