He is survived by his wife, Isabel; his sons, Mandon and Virgil Welch; his step-sons, Charles and Andrew Wahlert; and his grandchildren, Henry, Louise, and Vella Rose Welch. His legacy continues through his family, students, and the many individuals whose lives he touched throughout his multifaceted career.
