About Russ B.
Russ B. Cope built a law career that began in Ohio courtrooms and neighborhood offices. He earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2008. Early on he joined local bar groups and began laying the groundwork for a practice rooted in everyday legal problems.
He is licensed to practice in Ohio and moved into private practice soon after finishing law school. In 2010 he founded Cope Law Offices, LLC. The firm started small and expanded its footprint across the region over the next decade. Cope’s work has remained centered in western Ohio, where he handles matters that bring him into contact with clients from Springfield to Dayton.
Membership in professional organizations has been a constant for Cope. He belongs to the Dayton Bar Association (since 2005) and joined the Ohio State Bar Association in 2007. He also joined the American Bar Association in 2008 and later became active in groups that address bankruptcy practice, including the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers and the American Bankruptcy Law Forum. Locally, he maintains membership in the Greene County Bar Association and the Clark County Bar Association. Those affiliations reflect the circles in which he practices and the professional networks he maintains.
Cope Law Offices maintains multiple physical locations. The firm lists offices in Springfield and two locations in Dayton, described as Dayton North and Dayton South. Operating from several offices allows the firm to serve clients across a wider area while retaining a small-firm orientation. Cope has overseen the firm’s growth and managed its presence in community legal circles since the firm’s founding.
The subjects Cope engages with in his practice include bankruptcy and consumer bankruptcy matters, informed in part by his membership in specialized bankruptcy organizations. He handles client consultations, filings, and related proceedings that arise in consumer financial distress. His practice connects routine case management with courtroom and administrative work when matters require it. As of 2026 he continues to lead Cope Law Offices, LLC, serving clients from the Springfield and Dayton offices. His current practice focuses on bankruptcy and consumer bankruptcy matters across those offices.
