About Ronald
Ronald Wright began his academic path at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.S. in Psychology in 2002. He went on to receive his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 2006. He is admitted to practice in Texas and has built his legal career in that state.
His early legal years led quickly to partnership. In 2008 he joined Drinnon & Wright as a partner. There he handled a range of responsibilities that combined client work and the internal demands of a small firm. Colleagues from that period describe him as practical and steady in handling day-to-day legal matters.
In 2013 he moved into a leadership post as managing partner of the Houston office of McCathern, PLLC. That role expanded his duties beyond individual files. He oversees office operations, helps set case-handling practices and mentors junior attorneys in the Houston office. The management role has required attention to both administrative detail and the pressures of running a busy metropolitan practice.
Wright maintains professional connections through bar-related organizations. He is a current member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association. He has used those memberships for professional development and to stay current on changes in practice and procedure across the state.
His undergraduate training in psychology informs how he communicates with clients and colleagues. The combination of a social-science undergraduate degree and a law degree shapes a practical approach to problem solving. He is known among peers for keeping explanations clear and for focusing on what matters most to a client’s situation.
Today he practices from McCathern, PLLC’s Houston office. He divides his time between managing the office and continuing client work and remains active in the Texas legal community. He focuses his practice on matters arising in Texas from the firm’s Houston office.
