About Ron
Ron Brien has practiced law for more than four decades. He built his legal foundation in upstate New York and continued his training in Connecticut. Over the years he has maintained memberships in several local and state bar organizations, and he runs a private practice that handles matters on both sides of the border.
Brien began his academic journey at the State University of New York at Albany, where he earned a B.A. in political science in 1981 after beginning his undergraduate studies in 1977. He moved directly into law school and completed his J.D. at Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1984. The sequence of degrees places him among a generation of lawyers whose careers span significant changes in court procedures, technology and client expectations.
After law school Brien established himself in practice across Connecticut and New York. He holds memberships in the Greenwich Bar Association, the Fairfield County Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association on the Connecticut side. He also participates in the Westchester County Bar Association and the White Plains Bar Association in New York. Those memberships reflect a practice that crosses municipal and state lines and a professional life tied to two neighboring jurisdictions.
His career has combined private practice management and courtroom work. Running the Law Office of Ronald J. Brien LLC, he has overseen case preparation, client counseling and the administrative tasks that come with a small firm. His work requires familiarity with both Connecticut and New York procedures and the ability to move between different court calendars, filing systems and local rules. Colleagues and opposing counsel have noted his steady presence in local bar activities and legal forums.
Outside day-to-day case work he has stayed connected to the legal community through bar association involvement. Those memberships have kept him current on practice developments and provided regular contact with other lawyers in the region. His longevity in practice has also given him experience managing changes in the profession, from shifts in litigation practice to the growing role of electronic filing and discovery.
Brien continues to practice at the Law Office of Ronald J. Brien LLC. He accepts matters in both Connecticut and New York and handles cases that require knowledge of the procedures and customs in each state.
