About Roland D. Boyd
Roland D. Boyd III built his legal foundation in Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from the University of West Florida in 2016, and went on to receive his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 2018. Those years framed his early interest in court practice and dispute resolution, and set the stage for a career centered on family law matters in the Tampa Bay area.
After law school Boyd moved quickly into private practice. In 2019 he established Pinellas Family Lawyer and has served as owner since that year. Running a small firm required him to handle both casework and day-to-day operations. He has experience managing client intake, drafting pleadings, negotiating agreements, and representing clients at hearings in county family courts.
Boyd’s practice concentrates on the legal issues families commonly face. He represents clients in divorce proceedings, parenting-time and custody disputes, child and spousal support matters, and post-judgment modifications and enforcement. He works on cases that range from negotiated settlements to contested hearings. His approach tends toward practical solutions that address immediate needs while also anticipating future questions about parenting plans and financial arrangements.
He maintains ties to the local legal community. Boyd has been a member of the Clearwater Bar since 2019, participating in meetings and continuing legal education offerings that address developments in family law. That local membership keeps him connected to other practitioners and to procedural changes that affect family court practice in Pinellas County.
Colleagues describe him as a hands-on practitioner who handles the full cycle of family law matters at his firm. He spends much of his time preparing cases for court, mediating disputes, and advising clients on options outside litigation. The firm’s work often intersects with related areas such as dependency issues and domestic violence protections when those matters arise alongside divorce or custody questions.
He is licensed to practice in Florida and has built a practice based in Pinellas County. His current practice focuses on family law matters in Pinellas County.
