About Robyn T.
Robyn T. Williams combines training in the life sciences with formal legal education in intellectual property. She approaches trademark work from a technical and analytical perspective, shaped by early scientific study and a law degree earned in 2016.
Williams completed her J.D. at Drexel University School of Law in 2016, where she pursued an intellectual property concentration. Before law school she studied biology, earning a B.S. from the University of Houston–Victoria in 2009 and an A.S. from Houston Community College in 2007. The sequence of degrees underpins her ability to handle IP matters that touch on technical subject matter.
Her practical experience began outside the courtroom. In 2006 she worked as a regional commercial risk field representative for Verisk Analytics, a role that introduced her to regulatory and commercial complexities. While in law school she gained exposure to corporate and patent practice. In 2014 she interned with the Global Patents group at GlaxoSmithKline. The following year she served as due diligence team lead for Rowan Innovation Venture Fund and worked as a law clerk with the Intellectual Property Group at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott.
That combination of corporate, scientific and firm-side experience led Williams into trademark practice. She now serves as Co-Chair of the Trademark Group at Devlin Law Office. In that capacity she oversees portfolio matters and handles counseling, prosecution, and clearance work for clients managing brands and marks across multiple channels.
Williams is licensed in New York and participates in a number of professional organizations. She holds memberships in the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Federal Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court. Those affiliations keep her engaged with developments in IP law and procedural practices.
Colleagues describe her work as attentive to detail and geared toward practical results. Her background in biology informs how she evaluates technical claims and how she advises clients on overlap between trademarks and technology-driven products. She handles oppositions, filings, portfolio maintenance and client counseling for businesses at different stages.
She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Trademark Group at Devlin Law Office, where her practice centers on trademark counseling, prosecution, clearance and related intellectual property matters.
