About Paul D.

Paul D. Sunshine studied political science at the University of Delaware and earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1986. He continued his legal education at Widener University Delaware School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1990. Those years established the academic foundation he relies on in practice today.

His recorded firm history begins in the mid-2000s. In 2006 he worked at Bouland & Brush. Three years later he joined McGivney, Kluger & Cook, P.C., where he practiced as a lawyer. In 2018 he became a partner at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP. The progression traces a steady movement from associate roles into firm leadership.

Sunshine holds admission in both Delaware and Maryland. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, allowing him to handle matters in federal as well as state forums. On the alternative dispute resolution side, he is certified as an Advanced Mediator and an Approved Arbitrator by the Superior Court of the State of Delaware. Those credentials mean he serves both as an advocate and as a neutral in contested matters.

He keeps an active presence in professional organizations. He is a current member of the Delaware State Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association. Participation in these associations informs his approach to case management and procedural developments across two neighboring jurisdictions.

At Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, where he has been a partner since 2018, Sunshine combines courtroom experience with mediation and arbitration work. He has standing in state and federal courts in Delaware and Maryland and accepts appointments from the Superior Court of Delaware for ADR matters. Colleagues and opposing counsel see him as a practitioner who moves smoothly between contested litigation and negotiated resolution.

He maintains an office at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP and handles filings and hearings in both state and federal courts. His current practice concentrates on litigation and dispute resolution across Delaware and Maryland.
