Robert Stephen Arns is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1975. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Arns is the founder of Arns Davis Law, a law firm located in San Francisco, California. He has been practicing law for over 50 years, serving clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Mr. Arns earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1975. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature in 1971. During his time at USF School of Law, he was actively involved in trial practice and developed a strong foundation in civil litigation.
Mr. Arns specializes in civil litigation, focusing on personal injury, class action, and mass tort cases. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving serious injuries, wrongful death, consumer class actions, and various other tortious conduct. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Arns has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Francisco, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. In 1996, he founded The Arns Law Firm, which later became Arns Davis Law, with offices in San Francisco and Reno. He has been recognized as a finalist for Trial Lawyer of the Year by the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and the Consumer Attorneys of California.
Mr. Arns is an active member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and has participated in the ABOTA Masters of Trial Program over a dozen times. He has taught trial practice since 2004 at the University of San Francisco School of Law and was named Alumni of the Year and Professor of the Year. He is also a sustaining member of the President's Club of the Consumer Attorneys of California and a member of the California Lawyers Association, Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section. Mr. Arns is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of the San Francisco Bay Area effectively.
