About Robert

Robert Sheldon built a legal foundation that stretches back more than five decades. He graduated from Fairfield Preparatory School in 1963 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in history from the College of the Holy Cross in 1971. He completed his legal education at the University of Connecticut School of Law, receiving a J.D. in 1974.

After finishing law school, Sheldon moved quickly into practice. In 1974 he joined Tremont Sheldon P.C., where he began a career as a lawyer in Connecticut. That early transition from classroom to courtroom reflected a steady path into private practice and into the day-to-day work of representing clients in state settings.

Over the years Sheldon has maintained a practice centered in Connecticut. He has handled matters that arise in the state’s legal system and has spent the bulk of his career at the same firm. That continuity has given him a long view of how local courts, judges and procedures evolve over time.

Sheldon holds current membership in the Connecticut State Bar. That affiliation ties him to the professional rules and continuing legal education that govern lawyers in the state. It also places him among peers who practice across a range of civil and criminal matters in Connecticut.

Colleagues and clients who have worked with Sheldon over the years describe a lawyer who understands both the paperwork and the practical rhythm of litigation and transactional work. He has navigated changes in the law and in court procedures as they have unfolded since the 1970s. He kept his practice situated in the state where he was trained and where his career began.

Today Sheldon remains associated with Tremont Sheldon P.C. His practice continues to serve clients in Connecticut. He carries forward decades of local practice experience into his ongoing work at the firm.
