About Robert R.
Robert R. Titus built a steady legal career after studying government and English and then completing law school. He earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and later a J.D. from the University of Tulsa. Those academic choices set up an unusual mix of interests: policy, language and then the transactional side of law.
His early professional years took him inside the energy business. In 2014 he served as in-house counsel for Palomino Petroleum, Inc., where he handled day-to-day legal needs for an operating company. That role exposed him to contracts, leasing and the practical demands of working on oil and gas matters for an operator.
He moved back into private practice in 2016 as an associate at The Law Office of George A. Barton, P.C. There he expanded his practice skills and worked on matters typical of a small firm environment. He took on client-facing responsibilities, ran matters from intake through resolution, and gained courtroom and transactional experience.
In 2019 he became a partner at Titus Law Office, LLC. Leading a firm brought a different set of responsibilities. He manages client relations, supervises matter strategy and oversees the administrative side of running a law office. Partnering in his own firm also allowed him to shape the scope of services offered and the geographic reach of his practice.
Titus is licensed in three states: Texas, Kansas and Missouri. He holds bar licenses in each jurisdiction and is also a Registered Professional Landman through the American Association of Petroleum Landmen. That combination of admissions and professional certification reflects a practice that spans state lines and often touches on land and title issues connected to energy development.
His work draws on both his in-house experience and his time in private practice. He handles transactional matters, title and land work, and the kinds of disputes that arise from resource development and real estate interests. He represents clients at various stages of a project, from leasing and acquisition to contract negotiation and, when necessary, litigation.
Colleagues describe him as practical and detail-oriented in his approach to legal problems. He runs a small office that serves clients in Missouri, Texas and Kansas. He now focuses his practice on energy and land matters, serving clients across those states.
