About Marc S.
Marc S. Wilson holds a trio of degrees from Boston University: a J.D. and an LL.M. in Banking & Financial Law from Boston University School of Law, and an MBA in Finance from Boston University. Those credentials shaped an early interest in the intersection of law and markets. He pursued advanced study to better understand how legal rules affect lending, capital structures and financial institutions.
His LL.M. study examined the legal frameworks that govern banks and other financial intermediaries. Course work and research there informed his approach to transactional work and regulatory matters. The MBA gave him a language for talking about risk, valuation and deal economics that clients often find useful when legal questions intersect with business decisions.
Wilson is admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas. He moved from academic study into practice in settings that required both legal analysis and practical problem solving. Over time his work gravitated toward secured transactions, lending arrangements and contract design. He has handled matters that require attention to both statutory regimes and the commercial realities of financing.
Today he is counsel at Securitas Financial Law, LLC. In that role he advises lenders, borrowers and other market participants on documentation, negotiation and compliance. He works on secured lending, loan syndications and related transactional matters. He also assists clients in interpreting regulatory requirements that affect financial services activity in the Midwest.
Clients and colleagues describe Wilson as methodical in approach and clear in communication. He tends to break complex issues into discrete steps and to explain tradeoffs in plain terms. Outside the office he stays connected to developments in banking law and finance through continuing legal education and industry events. He is available for engagements across Missouri and Kansas and practices financial and transactional law matters at Securitas Financial Law, LLC. His current practice focuses on secured lending, loan documentation and financial services regulatory issues.
