About Robert
Robert Lantzy took a conventional path into law. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in 1994 and continued his studies at Michigan State University College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1997. Those years laid a factual and doctrinal foundation that he has built on in practice.
Soon after law school he began working as a lawyer at Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. He has spent his career at that firm, carrying out the day-to-day responsibilities of client representation and litigation that come with firm practice. His work has required courtroom readiness, written advocacy, and negotiation. He is admitted to practice in both Michigan and Ohio, and he handles matters that arise in those jurisdictions.
Lantzy maintains memberships in professional organizations that connect him to peers and to ongoing legal education. He is a current member of the American Bar Association. He also belongs to the Macomb County Bar Association. Those affiliations give him access to resources and local professional networks.
Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in handling casework. He applies the procedural rules and local practice norms of Michigan and Ohio courts. He prepares pleadings, argues motions, and engages in fact development. He regularly attends hearings and conferences that move cases toward resolution. His daily practice reflects the routines of a courtroom lawyer as well as the behind-the-scenes work required to prepare cases for trial or settlement.
Outside direct casework he participates in firm activities that support client service. That includes coordinating with investigators, managing discovery, and briefing dispositive motions. He also works with clients to set expectations and explain the legal process. His approach is centered on clear communication and the practical steps needed to advance a client’s position.
As of 2026 he continues as a lawyer at Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C., licensed to practice in Michigan and Ohio. He maintains his bar memberships and remains active in the professional associations noted above. He currently focuses his practice on representing clients through litigation and related legal processes in those states.
