About Robert L
Robert L Schwarz graduated from Michigan State University in 2011 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and earned his J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School in 2013. He completed his legal education as the nation was still adjusting to post-recession courts and rising attention to criminal justice reform. The academic record provided a clear path into public defense and later private practice.
His first position after law school brought him back to Pennsylvania. In 2014 he served as an assistant public defender in the Delaware County Public Defender's Office. That role placed him in courtrooms where he handled arraignments, negotiated with prosecutors and represented clients at trial stages. The work honed courtroom skills and offered steady exposure to criminal casework early in his career.
In 2015 Schwarz moved into private practice as an associate at Ciccarelli Law Offices. A year later he opened his own practice as The Law Offices of Robert L Schwarz. That period marked a shift from working for a municipal defender's office to managing client intake, case strategy and the administrative demands of a solo firm. In 2022 he joined Burr & Forman LLP as a lawyer, returning briefly to a larger firm environment before establishing Schwarz Law, LLC in 2023 as lawyer and owner.
Schwarz holds licenses in Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Georgia, and his memberships reflect ongoing ties to both legal and local business communities. He has been active in the Delaware County Bar Association and the Delaware County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2014. More recently he became involved in the Hilton Head community, holding memberships in the Hilton Head Island Bar Association and the Hilton Head Island Chamber of Commerce. He also maintains an affiliate membership in the Hilton Head Area Association of REALTORS, signaling connections to local real estate professionals.
Colleagues and clients who have worked with him over the years note a steady trajectory through public defense, solo practice and firm roles. The mix of court experience and private practice management has given him a varied professional background. He is admitted in three state jurisdictions and continues to maintain memberships in county and community organizations that reflect both his roots in Pennsylvania and his practice activities in South Carolina.
As of 2026 he practices under Schwarz Law, LLC and handles criminal defense matters as well as other legal issues for clients in the jurisdictions where he is licensed.
