About Dustin

Dustin Lee has spent his legal life in South Carolina courts and community rooms. He trained in the state and stayed. That choice shaped a practice rooted in local law and local institutions.

He completed undergraduate work in history at Coker College in 2001 and earned a B.A. in history from the University of South Carolina–Columbia in 2002. He went on to the University of South Carolina School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2005. He has been a member of the South Carolina Bar since 2008.

Early in his career he moved into private practice. In 2008 he became principal of Lee Law Office, LLC, a position he has held since. The office handles matters that commonly come before municipal and family courts in the region. In 2014 he served as an associate municipal court judge for the Town of Bluffton, a role that gave him an inside view of local judicial procedures and the day-to-day work of municipal courts.

Lee’s affiliations reflect the shape of his work. He belongs to the South Carolina Bar and participates in both its Family Law and Criminal Law sections. He joined the Hilton Head Island Bar Association in 2011 and became a member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2019. Those memberships connect him with peers who handle criminal defense, family law disputes, and municipal matters across the state.

Colleagues describe Lee as practical and procedural. He takes on contested hearings, arraignments, and custody or support matters that require steady courtroom presence. His municipal court experience gives him experience in handling ordinance violations and traffic-related prosecutions, as well as the calendar pressures typical of smaller jurisdictions.

Clients who come to Lee Law Office, LLC will find a lawyer familiar with the local bench, the local bar associations, and the rhythms of courts across the Lowcountry. The firm’s work ranges from negotiated resolutions to contested hearings. He manages intake, strategy, and courtroom advocacy, while coordinating with experts when cases require additional testimony.

After nearly two decades in practice, he continues to combine courtroom work with advisory representation. He remains active in professional organizations and in local legal circles. He practices law in South Carolina and focuses on family law and criminal defense in his current practice.
