About Robert

Robert King built his legal foundation at St. John Fisher College and Syracuse University College of Law. He completed his undergraduate studies at St. John Fisher College, earning a B.A. in 2003. He went on to Syracuse University College of Law and received his J.D. in 2007. Those years set the course for a career that has stayed close to criminal justice and public service.

After law school, King entered public prosecution. He served as an assistant district lawyer in the District Lawyer’s Office, where he handled day-to-day courtroom work and case preparation. The role gave him early exposure to trial practice and the pressures of calendar-driven local courts. Colleagues from that period describe him as dependable in managing courtroom responsibilities and client interaction.

King’s interests in the criminal justice system have extended beyond casework. He has been a member of the Monroe County Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section since 2008 and joined the New York State Bar Association the same year. Those memberships have kept him connected to regional developments and the professional community. He also served as president of the Young Alumni Association at St. John Fisher College and remains active in alumni events.

In practice, King moved from public service into private practice and now operates under the King Law name. He maintains offices in Geneva and Syracuse, which allows him to serve clients across a broad geographic area of upstate New York. Maintaining those offices reflects a preference for handling matters close to where people live and work rather than concentrating solely in a single urban center.

Colleagues and clients see King as a lawyer who prefers direct communication and practical solutions. He spends time preparing cases for court and for negotiation. He balances courtroom readiness with efforts to resolve matters before trial when that matches a client’s interests.

Today King continues to work in criminal law, drawing on years of experience in prosecutorial practice and local court procedures. He practices at King Law, operating offices in Geneva and Syracuse, and handles criminal defense and related matters.
