About Robert K.
Robert K. Jenner studied history as an undergraduate and stayed close to the law afterward. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a B.A. in History in 1982 and earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1985. Those years set the foundation for a long career in courtroom practice.
He entered private practice the year he finished law school, becoming a partner at Freeman & Jenner, P.C. in 1985. Two decades later he joined Greenberg & Bederman, LLP as a partner in 1999. In 2001 he moved to Janet, Jenner & Suggs, LLC, again as a partner. Since 2018 he has served as managing partner of Jenner Law, P.C. He also served on Law360’s Editorial Advisory Board from 2011 to 2012.
Jenner is admitted to practice before a range of state and federal courts. Those include the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He is also admitted to the bars of Maryland, the District of Columbia and Massachusetts.
Over the years he has maintained active involvement in professional organizations. He is a past president of the Maryland Association for Justice and is a fellow of the International Society of Barristers and the Maryland Bar Foundation. He holds memberships in the American Association for Justice, the Maryland Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is also affiliated with the Federal Bar Association, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice and other trial-focused groups.
Colleagues describe Jenner as a lawyer who prefers the practical work of preparing a case and arguing it before a judge or jury. He has spent much of his career in roles that require courtroom time and appellate activity. As managing partner he splits administrative responsibilities with trial preparation and oversight of litigation strategy. He continues to represent clients in civil litigation, pursuing trials and appeals at state and federal levels. He currently practices at Jenner Law, P.C., handling trial and appellate litigation matters.
