About Robert
Robert Jacobs earned his Bachelor of Science from the City University of New York’s City College in 1963 and went on to receive his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 1968. Those years set a steady course. The law school diploma came at a time when courtroom practice was changing and he entered the profession as a young attorney eager to test his skills.
He began his legal career at Bader, Dorsey & Kreshtool in 1968. That early work placed him in litigation rooms and in front of judges. He spent those formative years developing trial habits and learning how cases move from intake to verdict. In 1981 he co-founded Jacobs & Crumplar, P.A., taking on the responsibilities of building a practice and guiding younger lawyers. The firm established offices in Wilmington and Georgetown, maintaining a presence in both communities.
Outside the office he has been active in organizations that center on trial advocacy and civil justice. He holds membership in the American Association of Justice and in Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. He is also a member of the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association. Since 1988 he has served on the Board of Governors of the American Association of Justice, a role he has retained for many years.
Those affiliations reflect a courtroom orientation. Over time his work has remained anchored in litigation. He has tried matters in Delaware courts and handled the procedural, evidentiary and strategic elements that trial practice requires. Colleagues describe him as steady in court and pragmatic at the negotiation table. He has guided cases through dispositive motions, trials and settlements, choosing tactics according to the needs of each matter.
At Jacobs & Crumplar, P.A., he continued to shape the firm’s approach to client representation. The practice maintained its focus on trial work and civil litigation while expanding to serve clients from both Wilmington and Georgetown. He mentored junior attorneys and helped set office procedures that reflected long experience in the courtroom.
Now in the later phase of his career, he remains active in professional circles and in the courtroom. He is licensed to practice in Delaware and spends his time on trial litigation and civil-case work that arises in the state. He currently handles trial litigation and civil cases in Delaware.
